Newsflash

Gov. Tomblin has finally signed the Puppy Mill Bill!   Five long years for this bill and the Spay Neuter Bill to get through the Legislature.   Both have been tweaked but they still passed.   We will provide more of an update on exactly what each bill means for the animals of WV soon.   For now, let's just enjoy our measure of success!   Thanks to all of you who made calls, sent emails and went to Charleston.  You truly were the voice for these animals!

Also there is an excellent OP ED on Puppy Mills and why we needed this bill, in the Charleston Gazette, from Summer Wyatt, WV Director of HSUS.

The 2013 Legislature convenes February 13, 2013.  A Spay/Neuter Funding Assistance Bill will be introduced again along with the Commercial Breeding Bill or more commonly known as the 'Puppy Mill' bill.    We need your help in getting both of these bills passed.  Please contact your legislators today letting them know that you want their support for these two important bills.   You can find your district for both house and senate on the pdf county maps below.

FIND YOUR HOUSE OF DELEGATES DISTRICT

FIND YOUR SENATE DISTRICT

Then with your district number (different district numbers for house and for senate) use the Search 2013 WV Legislature tab at the left menu  and you will notice the WV State Legislative Website window will open.  Then you can easily click on senate, then members find by district number and you will have your contact information.  Do the same for the house.  Please be the voice for the animals of West Virginia.
